Special Programs:

Rabbi's Book Club:

Ever wonder what the Rabbi was reading besides the Torah? The Rabbi's Book Club creates a space to discuss books selected by Rabbi Edelstein which are thought-provoking or entertaining, ranging from novels to theology and everything in between. Meetings will be in open discussion format, and prior reading of books will be necessary for full participation, but is not required for attendance.

Monthly Programs:

Lunch and Learn:

The lunch and learn program is a wonderful time when we come together to share a meal and learning! Each month we will learn about a different topic. Please RSVP each month to Barbara Leveene (bleveene@hotmail.com). A $10 donation is requested to help provide lunch. This program is sponsored in part by the Prusack-Morgenstern fund.

Proverbs and Pour-overs:

Join Rabbi Edelstein and Reverend Nick Connolly (Matawan UMC) at Brew Coffee in Matawan, for delicious coffee and stimulating conversation on selections from the Book of Proverbs. This interfaith reading and discussion group welcomes everyone interested in the ancient wisdom literature of the Bible. Meetings held on the following Tuesdays, from 11:00AM-12:00PM:

Weekly Programs:

Kollel Kabbalah:

A Kollel is an on-going learning community, and this one will focus on studying the mysteries of G-d and the Universe through the classic teachings of Kabbalah! We will be learning in the yeshiva “chevruta” style, followed by “shiur” (lecture). Texts will be learned in Hebrew and English. No prior knowledge of Kabbalah is needed—dedication to attendance is appreciated.

Parshat HaShavua (Weekly Torah) Study:

Join Rabbi Edelstein for Torah study on the weekly parshah. We will be guided through our learning by the insights and discussion questions of Nechama Leibowitz z”l. Texts in English and Hebrew, Hebrew reading not required.
